Donate
We rely on donations from individuals and a few select partners to finance our work. We are able to run our school for the low cost of $1 per student per day. Every dollar we raise goes to paying teacher and staff salaries, school supplies, food and clothing for students, and facilities upkeep. If you are interested in learning more about our capital campaign and potentially making a larger donation to fund the expansion of our school you can learn more about that here and please reach out, we’d love to talk with you!
Apply to send a child to our school
If you are caring for a child or know of a child that is in a difficult situation and cannot afford schooling please reach out to learn more about how to send a student to MOCF. Most of our students are from the surrounding Kisii area however since we are a boarding school we could be open to students coming from further away. Unfortunately we can not guarantee space at our school for any students since there has always been high demand for spots and a limited capacity for additional students based on our current infrastructure and funding.
Join our Board of Directors
We have both Kenya and U.S.-based volunteer Boards of Directors that work together to run our school. The U.S. Board primarily focuses on fundraising in the U.S. while the Kenyan Board focuses more on on the ground school operations and some fundraising in Kenya. We are always looking for new members to join us and bring their expertise and support. If you’re interested in joining as a member of either Board please reach out!
Partner with us
Are you an organization interested in supporting our school financially or with an in-kind contribution? Do you know of any opportunity for our school that we should be aware of? Please reach out! We are always open to opportunities to partner with organizations that can help us. This could mean financial grants, donations of school supplies/clothing/equipment for extracurricular activities, pro-bono professional services, offers to provide programming for our students (counseling services, health education, arts education, mindfulness training, yoga instruction, etc.), hosting a fundraiser at your school or community organization, or something else we haven’t listed here!
Work at our school
The secret to our incredible success as a school lies primarily with the quality of our incredibly dedicated teachers and support staff. Not only are they teaching, feeding, and caring for our students, but they act as mentors and parent figures for many of our students who sadly lack parental figures in their lives. Volunteer
MOCF has been lucky to host a handful of volunteers over the years, some of whom are now members of our U.S.-based Board of Directors. If you are interested in traveling to Kenya (or traveling to Kisii if you’re already in Kenya) to volunteer with our school in any capacity please reach out, we’d love to talk with you. We don’t currently have a structured volunteer program, but we are open to exploring volunteer opportunities if you have an idea for a way you can help out at our school. If you are not interested in traveling to Kenya but want to get involved in some other way please reach out! Maybe you’re an amazing web designer and want to improve this lame website, or love grant writing and want to help us apply for more funding.
